To Read or Not to Read: READ - this was a definite "Read" for me, I finished it in 2 days with a 21 month old at home. It is a quick read, meaning that it's not difficult to read or have cumbersome spacing or font that you have to try and figure out. Characters are multidimensional and Schwab's writing made me care from page 1! Schwab does drop you in the middle of the story from the get go, but she gives you enough of the tale to make you want to keep reading.
Overall: Great read, and fun storyline. Witty, sassy characters that reflect true emotions that I felt in my youth. Unique ideas with main characters best friend and family situations. More of a coming of age tale - but with a ghost story twist.
Other Interesting Notes: This is a ghost story - so for some that may be a trigger. I didn't find it scary - but others might. Some violence, but more about survival than just violence to violence sake. As a parent there might be a few situations that make you worry as the main character is put in situations that a bit unsettling, just FYI.
